Downtown Banner Initiative

Thank you for your interest in participating in the Art in the Heart Dickson Downtown Banner Initiative. 

This initiative celebrates local artists by transforming original artwork into banners that will be displayed throughout Downtown Dickson.

IMPORTANT: The 2027 Downtown Banner Initiative will be in lieu of the Art In The Heart Art Auction traditionally held in February.

ELIGIBILITY

• Artists may submit one (1) original artwork to artintheheartdickson@gmail.com for consideration.

• Submitted artwork must be the artist’s original creation and must not infringe upon any copyright or intellectual property rights.

• Artwork must be suitable for public display and appropriate for audiences of all ages.

ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS

• All artwork must be family-friendly.

• Artwork may not contain religious or political themes, offensive language, or imagery that could be considered inappropriate for a public setting

• Art in the Heart Dickson reserves the right to reject any submission that does not meet these guidelines or the organization’s standards.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

• A high-resolution digital image of the artwork must be submitted by email to artintheheartdickson@gmail.com beginning August 6, 2026, and no later than February 15, 2027.

• Each submission must be accompanied by a minimum $100 donation to support the Downtown Banner Initiative.

PAYMENT

Payments may be made:

• Online at http://www.artintheheart.org

• By check mailed to:
  Art In The Heart Dickson
  Dickson, TN 37056

• In person to any Art In The Heart Dickson Board Member.

All payments must be received by February 15, 2027.

Submissions not accompanied by payment by the deadline will be considered withdrawn and will not be included in the 2027 Downtown Banner Initiative. If you require writen acknowledgment of your donation for tax purposes, please indicate that in your submission email.

BANNER DISPLAY

• Selected artwork will be professionally produced as street banners and displayed throughout Downtown Dickson from May through December 2027.

• Banner placement locations will be determined at random solely by the City of Dickson Public Works Department.

BANNER RETURN

At the conclusion of the display period, banners will be returned to the participating artists.

Participation in the Art in the Heart Dickson Downtown Banner Initiative constitutes acceptance of these guidelines. Art in the Heart Dickson reserves the right to make final decisions regarding artwork selection, banner production, placement, and interpretation of these guidelines. All decisions made by Art in the Heart Dickson are final.
